The Dakota Ridge Metropolitan District is a Title 32 Special District that has been established for the purpose of financing and installing street, landscaping, park and recreation, water, sanitation, transportation, mosquito control, safety protection, and television relay and translation improvements of the District, and the provision of covenant enforcement and security services; and all other improvements or services permitted by Article 1, Title 32, C.R.S. (collectively, the “Public Improvements and Services”), except as specifically limited by the Service Plan for the District approved by the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners on September 28, 2021, as it may be amended from time to time (the “Service Plan”).

The Public Improvements and Services are for the use and benefit of the residents and taxpayers of the District. The District is located in Jefferson County, Colorado. The District is a quasi-municipal political subdivision of the State of Colorado authorized to provide specialized services that Jefferson County does not provide.

The District may incur a maximum debt of $3,500,000. The District may impose a mill levy on taxable property within its boundaries, and may use various other revenue sources authorized by law to repay such debt.

The District may assess, as adjusted for statutory or legislative changes on or after January 1, 2021, a maximum mill levy of fifty (50) mills to repay such debt..

The District must file an Annual Report to the Jefferson County Administrator’s Office, the Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder, the Division of Local Government, and the State Auditor.

The District’s boundaries overlap with the boundaries of Jefferson County; Foothills Park & Recreation District – Subdistrict A; Lakehurst Water & Sanitation District; Law Enforcement Authority; Jefferson County School District No. R-1; Regional Transportation District; Urban Drainage & Flood Control District – South Platte; Urban Drainage & Flood Control District; West Metro Fire Protection District; and West Metro Fire Protection District – Subdistrict D.
